2016 Southern Region Master Gardener Conference, Arlington and Ft. Worth Texas- November 1-4 2016
View pdf here
Master Gardeners are all about providing education to others. At the Southern Region Master Gardener Conference, it’s your turn to learn new ideas from fellow MGs across the south, new ways of doing things and new ideas in horticulture from the experts.
Whether it’s creating dynamic soils, what’s up with genetically modified organisms, getting kids into the garden or the art of a great garden, there are some 20 sessions to meet every interest.
The conference is November 1-4, 2016, at the Sheraton Hotel in Arlington, TX, in the center of the vibrant Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Sessions run November 2-3, and close Friday morning, November 4, with a talk by actor Barry Corbin on “Growing Up in Texas”. The rest of day you can take your pick from a variety of tours.
Speaking of tours: they are spread throughout the conference so you don’t have to choose just one. In addition to garden tours (both public and private), the Arlington Sheraton is close to AT&T Stadium (home of the Dallas Cowboys as well as fantastic art work, and venue for a multitude of entertainment events) and Globe Life Park (home of the Texas Rangers), and tours are scheduled. And there will be plenty of opportunity to share the Texas experience with our out-of-state friends.
Registration is $275 through October 9, 2016. Go to the conference website for information on all the sessions, talks and tours. If you only want to attend one day or specific dining events, partial registration is available.
We invite you to come to Texas, have a fun time, and gain more knowledge to pass on to others!
